Hibernation

During the fall, a certain natural decay sets in. Nature gets ready for winter, and we are less and less outside. The life that was in the garden fades away, and the world outside almost goes into a kind of hibernation.

Things lie around where they were left, unnoticeably, dirt accumulates, and perhaps a few things break during the winter storms.

When spring comes and we once again venture outside, the clean-up begins, and we get ready for a new garden season.

When the light comes back, but before spring really takes off, we begin to again to go outside, and we see what the winter hibernation looked like. On the surface, it looks depressing; but it also holds the promise of a new season where things again become beautiful.
